The Botai culture is an archaeological culture (c. 3700–3100 BCE) of prehistoric Kazakhstan and North Asia. It was named after the settlement of Botai in Akmola Region of Kazakhstan. The Botai culture has two other large sites: Krasnyi Yar, and Vasilkovka. The Yamnaya culture was a late Copper Age to early Bronze Age archaeological culture of the region between the Southern Bug, Dniester, and Ural rivers (the Pontic steppe), dating to 3300–2600 BC.
